It’s about time we talked about immigration . . . - Telegraph

'The most thorough economic analysis was conducted by the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs in 2008. The panel included two former chancellors of the Exchequer, a former governor of the Bank of England, an eminent labour market economist and a former head of the Financial Services Authority. You would think that, between them, they might know a thing or two. They concluded, evidently somewhat to their surprise, that "we have found no evidence for the argument, made by the government, business and many others, that net migration generates significant economic benefits for the existing UK population".

When the government's Migration Advisory Committee came to look at the report, it did not seriously challenge the conclusions; it simply noted that much of the benefit went to the immigrants themselves. Nevertheless, the immigration lobby has remained in denial.'
The next time a BBC 'journalist' or left-wing 'comedian' tells you that immigration brings economic benefits to the UK, quote that to them. They won't listen, because they're not interested in facts but do it anyway.

Ebola outbreak: Sierra Leone angry at Australia visa ban - BBC News

Would you say that this BBC article gave equal space to both sides of the debate?

Of course not, but then the BBC is rarely impartial. More often it pushes its world view.

Reality

'... somehow we are being told that Israel (and by extension the West) are now the "White" oppressors of the poor "Brown" Muslims. Despite the fact that more Muslims have been killed by other Muslims than by everyone else in the world combined. Despite the fact that Jews are neither white, nor colonialists. Despite the fact that Muslims are actually conducting genocides against indigenous people even as we speak. The population of Muslims is 1.57 billion while Jews number approximately 14 million. Suddenly this doesn't look so much big bully Israel beating up the poor little Arabs does it?'

Why Did This Palestinian Facebook Group Care About A Nepal Bus Crash?

Israelly Cool has another expose of Palestinian hatred for Israeli Jews here
' Oh God, exterminate them and kill them vaporized and left them none To hell
O limit the Zionist Jews and kill them, vaporize them and don't leave any of them
To hell and good riddance, expand their dead Allah
Allah Akbar
Alhamdulillah
God burn them'
Of course you'll hear nothing about this on the institutionally anti-Israel BBC.

Ex-CBS reporter’s book reveals how liberal media protects Obama

This New York Post article reveals how the US media protects Barack Hussein Obama from criticism.
'... "Imagine a parallel scenario in which President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney personally appeared at groundbreakings for, and used billions of tax dollars to support, multiple giant corporate ventures whose investors were sometimes major campaign bundlers, only to have one (or two, or three) go bankrupt . . . when they knew in advance the companies' credit ratings were junk."'
The same is true for the BBC,, where Obama worship is still de rigeur

Mike Read's song is 'racist'?

Mike Read's song is 'racist'? Because Mike Read was singing in a Jamaican accent? What about UB40, Ali Campbell sang in a Caribbean accent and made millions from it. I don't remember the BBC banning UB40's songs.

Here's Mike Read...

Predictably the BBC have been doing their best to create a 'racist' furore over this story. Here's the BBC's Lance Percival back in 1965 doing his version of the calypso classic "Shame and Scandal in the Family", in a Trinidad accent. Lance Percival was a BBC regular, no accusations of racism then.

One of the BBC's favourite bands, Madness, covered the same song albeit with no faux Caribbean accent on the Dangerman Sessions album, well worth buying.

Mitch Benn, a regular on BBC Radio 4's Now Show, sang this song with a fake Jamaican accent - is he a racist too? One could argue that Mitch Benn's accent is stronger than Mike Read's.

Of course Mike Read, Ali Campbell and Mitch Benn aren't racist for singing with a Caribbean accent. But that doesn't serve the BBC's anti-UKIP agenda. They are desperate to protect their Labour allies from UKIP's inroads and any slur is worth making.

Outrage or no outrage, the 'liberal' dilemma

Outrage or no outrage, the 'liberal' dilemma. Show a 'liberal' this video and ask them if the lady making the speech is exhibiting any signs of racism, then watch their head explode...

"Fuck China Town"followed by a long list of the things she hates about the area, including their noise and strange food, sounds racist ... But the person speaking isn't a white man, she's a black woman... Pop goes the liberal's head!

Holocaust denial and antisemitism from UNRWA teachers

Another detailed and fascinating article by Elder of Ziyon It's a must read.

It's just a shame that the people who would benefit most from reading it, like the idiot British politicians who voted to recognise a Palestinian state and the 'journalists' at the institutionally anti-Israel BBC wouldn't read for fear of having their prejudices challenged.

Ottawa shootings per the BBC News

The BBC's report on the Ottawa Islamist terrorist attacks includes these two lines...
'Earlier this month, Canada announced plans to join the US-led campaign of air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq.

However there is no official confirmation that any of this week's attacks are linked to IS or the new military campaign.'
Might the lack of official confirmation be because these Islamist terrorist attacks are just part of Islamist terrorists war on non Muslims? It's a war that's been going for many years, whether the BBC chooses to believe it or not.

Why a two state solution is not a possible solution to the Israeli vs 'Palestinians' conflict

Pat Condell pretty much nailing it there.

But in case you need some proof, here's Fatah leader Abbas Zaki explaining Fatah policy on Israel very clearly in 2011...

Fatah leader Abbas Zaki speaks on Palestinian Authority television about "the great goal," referring to the goal of destroying Israel. He explains that it is impossible to achieve the "goal in one stroke," but that it would be "great" if Israel were "remove[d] from existence." He goes on to explain that this is not "a [stated] policy" and "you can't say it to the world."

This is a clear of example of the duplicity of PA leaders, who adhere to one position when speaking to foreign audiences, claiming to be seeking peace, but uphold a different position when speaking in Arabic, denying Israel's right to exist and educating the Palestinian people for continued conflict. This video indicates that Fatah may not intend to seriously work towards peace.

Transcipt:
"The agreement is based on the borders of June 4. While the agreement is on the borders of June 4, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] understands, we understand, and everyone knows that it is impossible to realize the inspiring idea, or the great goal in one stroke. If Israel withdraws from Jerusalem, if Israel uproots the settlements, 650,000 settlers, if Israel removes the (security) fence - what will be with Israel? Israel will come to an end. If I say that I want to remove it from existence, this will be great, great, [but] it is hard. This is not a [stated] policy. You can't say it to the world. You can say it to yourself."
[Al-Jazeera, Sept. 23, 2011]

Going back a little through history there are plenty of example of Palestinian leaders exposing their true intentions and admissions but the Western media, especially the BBC, are so anti-Israel that they just won't report such admissions.

How about the PLO leader Yasser Arafat, speaking on Jordanian TV on the same day that he signed the Declaration of Principles on the White House lawn in 1993:

“Since we cannot defeat Israel in war, we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish a sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.”
Could that be any clearer? Have the BBC ever reported that admission?

Even further back, on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here’s what he said:

'The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.
In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.'

Any room for doubt? No, but the BBC will continue to support the 'Palestinian' lies because the BBC is institutionally anti-Israel.

“when you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4)

“when you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4)

In case you were wondering why Islamists seem so keen on beheading kufr...

Only a small minority...?

Over and over again the general public of this country and others in the West are assured by our politicians and media that it is only a small minority of Muslims that are not peaceful followers of 'The Religion of Peace'. Many people believe this because they want to believe it.

The trouble is that poll after poll shows this position to be untrue. I've blogged about this before, showing the Pew opinion polls that reveal what Palestinians really think about Israel and Jews, results that institutionally anti Israel news organisations such as the BBC never ever report. Brainwashing the public that Israel is evil, racist and war loving, whilst the Palestinians are peace loving innocents can only succeed if the truth is withheld from the public you're trying to brainwash.

Opinion polls in the West that try to discover what Western Muslims think are less common but no less scary, and thus no less well reported.

I found this American report on a 2006 NOP poll carried out for Channel 4 that shares the bejesus out of me.
'The results from NOP Research, broadcast by Channel 4-TV on August 7, are startling.
Forty-five percent say 9/11 was a conspiracy by the American and Israeli governments. This figure is more than twice as high as those who say it was not a conspiracy. Tragically, almost one in four British Muslims believe that last year's 7/7 attacks on London were justified because of British support for the U.S.-led war on terror.
When asked, "Is Britain my country or their country?" only one in four say it is. Thirty percent of British Muslims would prefer to live under Sharia (Islamic religious) law than under British law. According to the report, "Half of those who express a preference for living under Sharia law say that, given the choice, they would move to a country governed by those laws."
Twenty-eight percent hope for the U.K. one day to become a fundamentalist Islamic state. This comports with last year's Daily Telegraph newspaper survey that found one-third of British Muslims believe that Western society is decadent and immoral and that Muslims should seek to end it.
The news is no less alarming on the question of freedom of speech. Seventy-eight percent support punishment for the people who earlier this year published cartoons featuring the Prophet Mohammed. Sixty-eight percent support the arrest and prosecution of those British people who "insult Islam." When asked if free speech should be protected, even if it offends religious groups, 62 percent of British Muslims say No, it should not.
Also concerning freedom of speech, as the NOP Research survey reports, "hardcore Islamists" constitute nine percent of the British Muslim population. A slightly more moderate group is composed of "staunch defenders of Islam." This second group comprises 29 percent of the British Muslim population. Individuals in this group aggressively defend their religion from internal and external threats, real or imagined.
The scary reality is that only three percent of British Muslims "took a consistently pro-freedom of speech line on these questions." The Muslim threat to British security is so severe that the assistant London police commissioner, Tarique Ghaffur, has called for an inquiry into the radicalization of young Muslims. Ghaffur sadly describes "a generation of angry young people vulnerable to exploitation." '
28% of British Muslims in 2006 hope for the UK to become a fundamentalist Islamic State.

This second group comprises 29 percent of the British Muslim population. Individuals in this group aggressively defend their religion from internal and external threats, real or imagined.
28%, 9%, 29%... 38% doesn't seem like a small minority to me. It seems like a very scary amount of people indeed.

Ebola, so what? It won't affect me...

Ebola, so what? It won't affect me... I've actually heard people say this; shocking I know.

Well Ebola will affect you. I'm willing to bet that jihadi terrorists are even now trying to find a way of getting the Ebola virus into Europe and the USA.

But apart from that, The Ivory Coast, which produces about 1.6 million metric tons of cacao beans per year (approximately 33% of the world’s total) closed its borders with Guinea and Liberia in August. Next door to Ivory Coast is Ghana, the world’s third-largest producer of cacao beans, 879,348 metric tons per year (approximately 15 percent of the world’s total).

If production, or rather safe distribution, of cacao beans is threatened then prices will rise and so will the price of chocolate...

Is the BBC 'imaprtial'?

'The BBC has to be impartial' and it 'broadly is' - so says the new Chairman of the BBC Trust, Rona Fairhead.

Hmm...

Various acting/former BBC staff have made comments that would seem to disagree including:"Today" reporter Robin Aitken; "Panorama" producer Gerard Baker; former "Newsnight" reporter Joan Bakewell; former director of news Helen Boaden; former "Feedback" presenter Roger Bolton; "The Moral Maze" presenter Michael Buerk; "Top Gear" presenter Jeremy Clarkson; former "Newsnight" political editor Michael Crick; documentary presenter Sebastian Foulks; former diplomatic correspondent Freddie Forsyth; "Woman's Hour" presenter Jane Garvey; director-general Tony Hall; former "Panorama" producer Steve Hewlett; former director of news Peter Horrocks; former "Panorama" producer Anthony Jay; director of editorial policy and standards David Jordan; former documentaries commissioning editor Richard Klein; former "Today" editor Rod Liddle; former "Today" editor Tim Luckhurst; former "Good Morning Sunday" presenter Don Maclean; Radio 2 presenter Simon Mayo; former political editor Andrew Marr; former "Today" editor Roger Mosey; former BBC governor Dame Neville-Jones; former "One Man And His Dog" presenter Robin Page; former "Newsnight" presenter Jeremy Paxman; former news producer Nick Pollard; former business editor Jeff Randall; political editor Nick Robinson; former "Crimewatch" presenter Nick Ross; former "Talking Politics" presenter Dennis Sewell; former head of current affairs Samir Shah; former news anchor Peter Sissons; former director-general Mark Thompson; "Today" presenter Justin Webb; former Online science editor David Whitehouse; and creative director Alan Yentob.

Is the BBC 'impartial'? I think we know the answer to that - and it's NO.

Arabic speaker required to translate a Yusuf Islam track

Tonight's BBC Radio 4 Front Row interview with Yusuf Islam, formerly Cat Stevens, was the sort of gushy interview that one would expect from the BBC when faced with an anti Imperialist Muslim 'artist'.

But one part struck me as rather odd. The interviewer, Samira Ahmed, asked about his reworking of "You are my sunshine", and made reference to the Arabic added in his version of this 'all American folk-song'.

Yusuf Islam says about his Malian group "They tried to mirror the words, you know, "You are my sunshine" but they did it in a slightly more personal way."

Then Samira Ahmed made a very odd little, what sounded to to me rather conspiratorial, giggle; as though she knew what the Arabic meant.

Maybe we should all know... Anybody speak Arabic and are willing to listen to some Yusuf Islam?

Disabled Labour delegate asked to move to make way for party's 'bright young things'

The caring side of the Labour Party on show...
'A disabled Labour Party member claims she and others were ejected from their reserved seats in order to make room for "bright young things" at the party's conference in Manchester on Tuesday.
Bernadette Horton, a 47-year-old Labour Party member who cannot walk without crutches, fell over after conference organisers made her and two other partially disabled individuals move from their reserved seats.

Ms Horton, who has been a Labour Party member for three years, said: "The way we were treated by a party that sets itself up for the most vulnerable was appalling."'

More in The Independent here but definitely not on the BBC, where 'vote Labour' is the ever present clarion call and where the real story is what Lord Freud said, context free of course.

The BBC's attitude to sexual abuse during the 1990s

Per Paul Merton's autobiography as reported in The Telegraph:
"I heard about him (Dave Lee Travis) 20 years ago. A technician somewhere told me that there was a rule at the BBC: Don't leave him alone with a woman."
If the BBC knew about Dave Lee Travis's pecadillos but did nothing to stop him, let alone report him to the police, then are they not also guilty of an offence?

One of Israel's main satellite TV providers has opted to drop the world-famous British Broadcasting Corporation from its line-up of channels

i24 informs me that:
'One of Israel's main satellite TV providers has opted to drop the world-famous British Broadcasting Corporation from its line-up of channels, Israeli media reported Friday.

The YES satellite company announced it would no longer host BBC World, as the channel enjoys low ratings in Israel as a consequence of being perceived to harbor anti-Israeli bias.

...

"Customer satisfaction with the channel is low..."'
How unsurprising, now how do we opt out of receiving institutionally anti-Israel news from the BBC in this country?

Bad News for the alarmists: 'Missing Heat' from Non-Existent 'Global Warming' isn't Hiding in the Ocean After All

'The cause of climate alarmism has been struck another near-fatal blow by a new study from a NASA research team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

Using a combination of satellite observations and direct measurements taken by a network of 3,000 floating Argo temperature probes, the NASA team set out to calculate temperature changes and thermal expansion in the deep ocean (below 1.24 miles).

What they have found is that the deep ocean has not warmed measurably since at least 2005.
This unfortunate discovery represents a major problem for the climate alarmists because the "missing heat" supposedly hiding in the deep oceans has long been their favoured explanation as to why there has been no measured "global warming" for the last 18 years.'
You can read more here at Breitbart but not on the BBC, who abandoned any pretence of impartiality in its coverage of climate change long ago.

Some Poor Egyptian Girls Have Been Married 60 Times By The Time They Turn 18

The reality of child sex abuse in Egypt.
'... some girls who grow up in Egypt's poor rural communities face an even scarier sort of child marriage: the temporary kind. Sex tourism to Egypt tends to spike in the summer, when wealthy men from Gulf countries flood into Egypt and thousands of underage girls are sold by their parents into temporary "marriages," according to a story by Inter Press Service.

Child sex tourism is difficult to track, but the United Nations estimates that it affects two million children every year, often in countries that are poor but have preexisting tourism infrastructure, such as Thailand, India, Costa Rica and others.

Egypt's illegal child sex tourism trade appears to have put a regional-friendly spin on the practice by portraying the buying and selling of children as a form of marriage, thus giving them a thin veneer of religious acceptability by circumventing Islamic rules against pre-marital sex. (Despite a 2008 law banning child marriages, enforcement is thought to be low and an Egyptian official told the Inter Press Service that's it's nearly ceased since the chaos of the 2011 revolution.) Child marriages are, after all, somewhat common in Arab countries, although not nearly as common as in neighboring regions. And such child marriages often involve "dowries" that human trafficking activists say are akin to a purchase price.

By making the unions temporary, Egyptian child sex tourism manages to capture much of the worst of child marriage and child prostitution. Girls still bear the long-term risks of child marriages – some are expected to double as domestic workers – as well as the routines of children sold for sex in other countries. "Some girls have been married 60 times by the time they turn 18," an Egyptian government official who works on the issue told Inter Press Service. "Most 'marriages' last for just a couple of days or weeks."'

Are you wondering why the BBC's usual anti-Conservative reporting has become that much more aggressive in recent days?

Are you wondering why the BBC's usual anti-Conservative reporting has become that much more aggressive in recent days?

The reason is that David Cameron's Conservative Party Conference speech was so well received, especially the part about cutting taxes that the Labour Party had a familiar panic. The BBC so often fulfils the role of the Labour Party's propaganda arm that it upped the anti-Conservative coverage. The BBC seem obsessed by how the Conservatives will fund the tax cut, I don't remember the BBC similarly asking the Labour Party how they would fund their reckless rise in public spending 1999-2007.

With news that the latest YouGov Poll shows the Conservative party with a small (1 point) lead in the main question for the first time since 21012, you can expect the BBC's coverage to become more virulently anti-Conservative.

As an aside I thought that I'd see how long it took the BBC to update their Poll Tracker with this latest Poll. It looks as though it might be quite some time as the last poll that that page includes is the Populus poll of 6 May 2014. The BBC are almost five months behind on updating that useful tool.

To be fair the BBC are developing a new Poll Tracker, well they say they are but that project seems to have stalled and reports data no later than 2013.

So there we have it, a BBC virulently biased against the Conservative Party and so incompetent that it can't update a simple database. Remind me why we all have to fund this biased and obscene waste of money?

"Goal is end of Israel, but "you can't say that to…"

Fatah leader Abbas Zaki explains Fatah policy on Israel very clearly. Don't expect the institutionally anti Israel BBC to ever report such comments.

Fatah leader Abbas Zaki speaks on Palestinian Authority television about "the great goal," referring to the goal of destroying Israel. He explains that it is impossible to achieve the "goal in one stroke," but that it would be "great" if Israel were "remove[d] from existence." Why do so many Islamists choose beheading as their favoured way of killing?

In the last few years it seems as though few news reports from Syria, Iraq or other places where Islamic terrorists are wreaking havoc (or indeed on attacks on British soldiers on the streets of London or incidents of 'workplace violence' in America) are complete without mentioning that the victims were beheaded.

Why do so many Islamist terrorists choose beheading as their favoured method of killing?

Let's see...
1. Koran 5:33 'The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter.'

2. Koran 8:12 'I (Allah) will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off.'

3. Koran 47:4 'Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), strike off their heads; at length; then when you have made wide Slaughter among them, carefully tie up the remaining captives...'

Oh I see.

Finally a useful font... The Sarcastic Font

For too long e-mails, instant messages, web pages and documents have been unable to fully communicate the subtleties of sarcasm. Text delivered without intonation fail to represent the rare form of language where the intended meaning is the opposite of the written word.
Over the internet we yell at each other with ALL CAPS and emphasize with bold and italics, but where is sarcasm? Where is the nuance, the elegance? We say it is time for a change. It's time for a revolution. It's time for a new font style!

The BBC letting slip why social cohesion is better in Japan than in Europe and other Western countries

In a BBC articleabout Japanese autumnal oddities, comes this paragraph:
'It's often been said that Japan operates via strict social norms to achieve its remarkable social cohesion and that this is largely responsible for making Japan such a pleasant place to live. There are no bins at the beaches, nor on the streets. By and large, Japanese people take their rubbish home with them. Just one example of the positive benefits of this cohesion.'
That and very limited third world immigration...
