A graph to illustrate the causes of the Israeli attack on Gaza





Since Israel left Gaza in 2005, to help ensure peace they were told, those are the number of rockets fired at Israel from Gaza. Yes many were shot down by the Israeli Iron Dome defences, yes many landed in open countryside. But how many other countries would be expected to just let the rockets be fired at it and to be censured for responding?


Hamas have ramped up their attacks this year, partly to take attention off of Iran but mainly to try and draw Israel into reacting and so losing even more public support. Hamas have succeeded, but what choice did Israel really have?
