The EU Treaty/Constitution comes to the House of Commons today

I will be covering this matter in depth over the coming weeks, but before the debate in Parliament even starts I will make these five predictions:

1) Labour ministers and backbenchers will still insist that the Treaty bears no resemblance to the Constitution, that the Constitutional process is dead and that the Constitution and the Treaty are "as alike as fish and fowl"

2) The BBC will favour the pro-Treaty side by at least 3 to 1 on any discussion programme

3) The BBC will use the phrase "Conservative splits over Europe" as often as they can

4) Labour ministers will use the phrase "Conservative splits over Europe" as often as they can

5) Gordon Brown will bully enough Labour MPs into supporting the bill and so avoiding a referendum

You can draw your own conclusions as to why points 3 & 4 are so similar
